You know, I didn't mean to have so many stone evolutions this playthrough. But here we are: 4 stone evolutions! I made sure to look up where the 2 moon stones are in Mt Moon - I am surprised you can get them so early. You can get nidoqueen and clefable early game and destroy everyone, but I chose to keep nidorina as I wanted to see her sprite and make the game harder. I caught an oddish because I've rarely used vileplume despite REALLY liking it...so yeah, got it on a whim.
SO many trainers on the way to Mt Moon...I caught a nidoran ♀ in the grass here. I've pretty much always done this since I was a child, except this time I only got the one. I normally get both the female and male nidoran! I caught a rare clefairy in the cave because I don't think I've ever used a clefairy. I've used clefable in competitive, but the one time clefairy was used I wasn't playing Pokémon.
I've actually used all three Kanto starters, but I've used charmander the least...this is why it's my starter! Unfortunately I didn't reset to get a female, so a male will have to do. I've used butterfree before, so when I hit Viridian forest I didn't really care to catch anything. I thought about using beedrill, which I might've, but I found a female pikachu! 5% spawn rate so I caught it and decided to use it. I've never used a pikachu before, though I have used raichu in competitive. I got to Pewter gym and had to level up in the patch of grass. I used pikachu to growl and charmander deal the damage with ember and metal claw. Metal claw is a huge lifesaver for the first gym...the original must've been rough! It dealt with onix easily.
